Google Alerts

Google Alerts is a great service offered by Google where you can request updates any time new content is posted for a search query that you specify.  Below is a screenshot of the simple interface for Google Alerts.  In order to receive updates you simple enter your search keywords and then specify how often you would like Google Alerts to send you updates.

Now What?

Google Alerts is a great tool for students to use when researching for a project or during a unit of study.  For teachers Google Alerts is great because it can help you to stay current with a unit of instruction and the newest additions to the web.

Thanks for the tip. I am trying it out on myself. If it works I will use it when my students start their independent research project in a couple of months.
