Sign Up Genius

Sign Up Genius is a website which allows you to create a page on the web where visitors can RSVP for activities that you've created or sign-up for something like a class needs list.  To see how it worked, I created a page for other teachers to sign up for a staff luncheon.  It was very simple to create the form on Sign Up Genius and there were an assortment of options for the theme and style.  I was happy to see that there was a rich text editor which allowed for HTML code as well.  This could prove to be useful if you wanted to include a link or embed a video in your description.  Also, users do not need an account to sign-up for your event.  On Sign Up Genius you can either send it out by e-mail to all of your guests or you can have them access it with a private password.  Check out the video below for an overview of Sign Up Genius:

Now What?

Sign Up Genius is one of many great web based calendar sites (thank you Evite) which will allow you to organize your event or get together.  This online planner could be very useful for coaches looking to coordinate with their team or in the classroom you could use it to have students sign up for presentation slots.  This could also be a tremendous time saver for parent teacher conference signup.
